Born and raised in Las Vegas, NV – with an 11-year hiatus in Louisville, KY, and New Albany, IN. 19+ years of life in recovery without a bet, learning and growing every day. Enjoying the evolutions of my life and working on being a better person today than I was yesterday.

The name of this blog comes from the nickname I have had since I was about 19 years old (Sodapop). I used that nickname as my “handle” on MultiComm, a BBS that predated the chat rooms on the internet. My favorite movie is The Outsiders and that’s where I got the name from.

My world revolves around my recovery. If it’s going to be toxic for me and/or my recovery, I won’t get involved in it – no matter who wants me to get involved. I’ve relearned how to put my recovery first and I’m good with that.
